SIM4CSOs consortium

A consortium of entities comprising non-governmental organizations, social research institutes, centres for social innovation, a small-medium enterprise and a higher education institution.

The leading entity is the Higher Incubator Giving Growth and Sustainability (HIGGS), a non-profit organization that aims to empower Civil Society Organizations through educational and supportive programmes in Greece. The other countries involved in the consortium are Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Israel, Norway, Poland and Portugal.

All partners comply with the following

  • Interest in the objectives of the project and in taking project outcomes forward practically in their own sector;
  • Expertise to contribute to the intellectual outputs of the project;
  • Ability to provide training with a sectoral group;
  • Ability to disseminate the findings within their own countries and internationally.

HIGGS is a Greek Non-profit Organization that was founded in 2015 aiming to reinforce NPOs in Greece, through educational and supportive programs. Hitherto, HIGGS has supported more than 149 NPOs through its main capacity building programs: Accelerator, Incubator and Recharge. HIGGS has also an extensive experience on EU projects (Erasmus+, AMIF, EEA Grants) and focuses on the enhancement of knowledge in the Greek Non-profit sector by taking part in research, establishing a knowledge repository on Civil Society and disseminating best practices. Therefore, HIGGS operates as “hub” among NPOs in Greece, and the various stakeholders that wish to connect with Greek NPOs.

NOVA is one of the largest social science research institutes in Norway. The institute conducts research on different aspects of society and the welfare state. We focus on the entire life cycle, from cradle to grave.

Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) is a Research and Development organisation, which focuses on fostering social innovation that can bring about positive change to local, national, regional and global entities. The CSI team is composed of open-minded, fully equipped researchers, entrepreneurs, project managers, trainers and Information Technology Developers. CSI encompasses the capability and capacity to identify social needs, design and implement adjusted initiatives, and provide for sustainable growth. The CSI team’s areas of expertise are in the fields of traditional education and e-learning, entrepreneurship, start-ups, innovation, creativity, negotiations, IP advisory services, social responsibility, business advisory solutions, data analytics, information technologies, project management, project evaluation services, product validation, training and computer gaming.

Founded in 2003. and situated in the Nordest part of Croatia, we are an association/NGO that empowers social economy ecosystem in Croatia and the CEE region. The core business of AG is SE business development, business support and education/training in various fields. We support impact entrepreneurs in developing and expanding their business globally through customized and structured support programs, with an emphasis on information, education, mentoring, promotion and networking. We see measuring social impact as an important business segment.

CESIE is a non-governmental organisation based in Sicily, established in 2001 and inspired by the work and theories of sociologist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997). As a European centre of Studies and Initiatives, CESIE links local, national and international contexts and is committed to stimulating development and change in educational, cultural and economic spheres through the creation and use of innovative tools and methods. CESIE is divided into six Units which work together and manage activities in their specific fields: Higher Education and Research, Rights and Justice, Adult, Migration, School, Youth.
Objectives are to:

  • Improve lifelong education in Europe through transnational projects involving local communities
  • Promote sustainable development of neighbouring regions and beyond through training and education
  • Foster progress and innovation in Higher Education and Research
  • Support learning mobility for people at all ages, across borders and sectors
  • Stimulate local growth by adapting international good practices and methods

Midot is a non-profit organization that strives to promote effectiveness and impact as the main criterion for social action through the development of advanced tools for social measurement, rating NPOs, consulting, development of social standards, social mapping, applied research, conferences and training.

INOVA+ is a Portuguese company specialised in supporting the growth of organisations through innovation, international cooperation and access to funding. With 20 years of experience in European funding programmes and success in this area, INOVA+ regularly collaborates with the European Commission and other international bodies for the implementation of projects and services. Acting as an enabler for the participation of other organisations, INOVA+ position itself as a service provider in the development of applications and in the project implementation stage. With a presence in Portugal, Belgium, Poland and Germany, we work alongside team members who regularly act as external evaluators and experts in different European programmes.

CEBS – Education and Social Research Centre is a non for profit association. Our mission is to support the development of the civil society, education and to promote entrepreneurship, with particular regards to groups exposed to risks of social, economic and interpersonal exclusion.
